The Kneading Conference West just wrapped up in Mount Vernon, Washington and our Director of Instore/Food Service, Shawna Goldfarb, attended the conference.
This was the first year the Kneading Conference West was held and it’s based on the Kneading Conference held annually in Portland, Maine. Over 250 people attended the conference, participating in workshops and attending lectures of all aspects of artisan baking. WP Kemper Bakery Systems supplied two pieces of equipment to the conference: the WP Matador Store Electric Deck Oven and the Kemper SP 30 mixer. This equipment was used in the workshops at the conference.
There were so many great classes and events at the Kneading Conference West; Shawna chose to sit in on Master Baker (and WP Kemper Bakery Systems Consultant) Michael Eggebrecht’s panel on baking as a business. Along with Jesse Dodson from New Seasons Market, Michael hosted a two-day class on professional baking and using machines to achieve hand-craft baking results.
There have been so many great wrap-ups posted by attendees of the Kneading Conference West. Over on Northwest Sourdough they’ve posted videos from the Professional Baking class. The Fresh Loaf has some beautiful photos of the conference. It is WP Kemper Bakery Systems’ mission to provide and participate in educating our market. When our market grows, we grow.
