The new ITES infrared oven won the prestigious iba Trophy at iba 2015. This traditional award is a recognition for particularly innovative developments which provide benefits to the bakery trade.
Member of the Jury, Rainer Hoppenstedt of IGV GmbH (Institut für Getreideverarbeitung, Institute for Grain Processing), praised the overall concept of the tunnel oven with infrared technology at the award ceremony at the stand of the Zentralverband des Deutschen Bäckerhandwerks (central association of the German bakery trade).
The expert said that ITES made it possible to fully bake deep-frozen, partially baked goods in no time and with the best quality. The defrosting phase usually required, such as for deep-frozen pretzels, is a thing of the past with the ITES. Products can be baked just-in-time and salted as well.
Rainer Hoppenstedt presented the award for this innovative technical achievement to Franz Jordan (Managing Director WP Riehle) and Horst Fischer.
